JAG Book Swap Chili Cook-Off a Success

707

Garrettsville – James A Garfield PTO recently held their 6th Annual Book Swap and Chili Cook-off at the elementary school on Thursday evening February 21, 2013. The book swap was a way for readers to recycle books they have read for ones they haven’t read. Over 250 folks came out to swap books. While swapping books one could enjoy the live entertainment provided by Garfield’s own Steve Howell as he played his guitar and sang. They  had plenty of chili to taste as well.

When the last spoon was licked clean, they determined the winner to be Jason Stachowski, who made a white chili. Second place went to Dennis Bontrager and third place went to Brent Turnbaugh. Congratulations! A special thanks to Libby Frato-Sweeney for organizing the event.
