Hiram Police Department Receives Grant

Hiram – The Hiram Police Department is proud to announce the acquisition of a $2,437.20 grant award from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Justice Assistance Law Enforcement Grant. The grant will be directed toward the purchase of new portable communication radio units. 

“The JAG LE grant award will be utilized for the acquisition of portable radios”, said Chief Ed Samec. “The current radio inventory does not provide efficiency and effectiveness in the event of a larger scale emergency”.

“We explore various grants that are offered on the State and Federal level”, Chief Ed Samec said. “If we can be successful in being awarded grants we can continue to provide a high level of public safety service to our community without a strain upon our taxpayers.

The Hiram Police Department is one  of 141 agencies throughout the State of Ohio that was awarded the JAG LE grant. The Hiram Police Department prides itself on providing the utmost professional, efficient, and elite form of public safety to the community, and the acquisition of the JAG LE grant will provide support to the goal of effective public safety.
