Go for the Gold

Do you know a couple in the Garrettsville-Hiram-Windham community who’ve been married fifty years or more…your charming spouse and yourself, perhaps?   The neighbors down the street? Friends, grandparents, the possibilities are nearly endless.
Well, the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club would like to recognize and honor folks who have reached this significant milestone as part of their Family Week activities this year.
It’s simple, really.  Call or stop in at the Business Works on Main St. in Garrettsville to give the Rotarians some basic information, or you could send the information to P.O. Box 184, Garrettsville.  Include any pertinent details, entertaining highlights or touching moments that you–or they–would like to share.  Then mark your calendar for March 3, the Family Fun Festival, at the James A. Garfield Elementary School, when all participants will be recognized and attendees will be treated to a special salute for their roles as family founders and community treasures.
While you’re at it, you could remind any qualifying couples that they’re welcome to Grandparents’ Night at the Garrettsville Branch of the Portage County District Library from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The fun never ends in Family Week.  Stay tuned.
