Mantua –  The Crestwood Lions will begin their  busy season with their food trailer by placing it at the Akron Soap Box Derby Rally Race on April 26-27th.

More events at the Derby are scheduled during May & July.  Closer to home, the Lions will be placing their trailer at the Garrettsville IGA on May 10th from 11:00 – 6:00.  All proceeds for this outing will go towards the rebuilding of Garrettsville after the devastating fire.  Our standard menu of cheeseburgers, fresh cut fries, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fish and beverages will be served.  Come out and support Garrettsville by purchasing a great lunch or dinner!

Next the Lions are off to Kent Fest, Mantua’s Soap Box Derby Race, Art on The Hill, Ridge Ranch Campground, the Mantua Potato Festival and Monroe’s Orchard, for their fall events.  If anyone needs a food trailer at any event, please contact Mary Hannah, Food Trailer Chair and Club President at 330-883-9297.

The Crestwood Lions keep busy all year with other activities such as First Aid/CPR classes – free to the public, Mantua Park Trailhead clean-up in conjunction with DMRC, eyeglass collection, candle and basket sales, house sign sales and mint sales.

All money raised by the Lions, with the May 10th exception, goes towards eye examinations, eyeglasses, diabetes testing and Pilot dog purchases for those who are less fortunate. For information on how to become a member, contact Harold Ullman at 330-221-0018.
