Crestwood Kids Enjoyed Lunch with Santa

Mantua – The Crestwood Primary School (CPS) PTO hosted lunch with Santa last Saturday at the Historic Mantua Center Elementary School. Nearly 150 people attended, with almost half the number of attendees measured in at less than four feet tall.IMG_0097Shannon Sayre, one of the event organizers stated, “We reviewed other locations, but thought the Mantua Center School was the best location for the money. We’re happy with the positive feedback we received from families who attended.”

At the lunch, kids and their families enjoyed pizza, apple slices and punch.  Other snacks, including cookies and donuts were also served.  To add a festive flair, families visited five craft stations and had the opportunity to choose a balloon animal while they waited.  In addition, families could bid on Chinese auction prizes.

Prizes were donated by the Akron Zoo, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Wild Water Kingdom, Camp Hi Canoe, and Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort.  In addition, the Crestwood Primary PTO donated a set of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ books for the auction, Mantua McDonald’s donated punch and cups, and Raised & Glazed of Bainbridge donated the delicious donuts.

But the highlight of the festivities by far was a visit from Santa Claus himself.  Judging from the beaming smiles of those in attendance, the holiday event — and the jolly old elf — did not disappoint.
