Burton Village Celebrates the Holidays

1631

Burton – The Burton Chamber of Commerce will host Country Hearth Christmas Nov. 29 & 30, Dec. 1, 7 & 8 in Burton Village. The log cabin in the park will be the hub of activity over the five-day event offering horse drawn carriage rides. Come snuggle up to the roaring fire in the fireplace, relax on a rocker and learn all about making pure maple syrup. Santa will visit each day from noon to 4 p.m. While in the log cabin, check out the maple products that make excellent and tasty gifts. There will be a lighted holiday parade at 6 p.m. Nov. 29. The parade will assemble in the driveway between Huntington Bank and Berkshire High School at 5:30 p.m. All marchers, floats and participants must have some sort of lighting — but no unit can have a Santa. Santa will be at the end of the parade for all the young ones to enjoy. At the completion of the parade, the holiday lights will be turned on in Burton Village Park. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available at the Burton Congregational Church after the Caroling and lighting ceremony.

The shops on Main Street will be hosting various special events and activities. All shops are locally owned and different. Antiques, hand-blown glass items, Amish made rugs, flowers, vintage furniture and unique, one-of-a-kind gifts are just a few of the many things waiting to be discovered.

The Burton Public Library will be celebrating the holidays in grand style. Check out the Gingerbread House display through the holidays. The American Legion Hall will have Breakfast with Santa and a craft show Nov. 30. Breakfast with Santa is from 9 a.m. until 1pm. Food will be served until 1:30 p.m., so those checking out the craft show until 3 p.m. will have refreshments. Picturesque and historic Burton Village is a wonderful place to visit in any season. For those who wish to extend their visit, the Red Maple Inn and Goodwin House B&B are ready to welcome you.

And, there are four different restaurants for your dining needs. For more information on Country Hearth Christmas, including a complete schedule of events, call Amy at 440-834-4204 or Sue at 440-834-0076, or visit www.burtonchamberofcommerce.com.
