Mantua – Fun was the theme at the first annual New Adventures Early Learning “Kiddie Carnival” on Saturday, August 2nd, and it all happened for a good cause. 4C’s, Mantua’s local food pantry, collected canned goods as admission into the event and was blown away with the generous donations from the community. These donations will help serve the 100 families currently assisted by this local grassroots emergency food assistance program for the Crestwood district. Phillis, 4C’s secretary, explained the success of the 4C’s “The 4C’s is so successful because of the support from the Crestwood community. The scouts, schools, local businesses, churches, and many more donate generously.”

Carnival attendees enjoyed hot dogs, funnel cakes, and snow cones along with games, chinese auction, and other fun activities including a bounce house and dunk tank. Riley Lane excitedly mentioned in passing “The dunk tank and snow cones made the day. They cooled me off throughout the day.” Local businesses and organizations such as Jakes Market, Cortland Bank, McDonalds, The Italian Garden, Candance, Mantua Station Drug Co, and many more generously donated baskets, gift cards, and drinks for the event. New Adventures Director Megan Loske said “It was great to see the way the community came together to have some fun and support such a great cause, we can’t wait to do it again next year.”
