Child Advocates Needed for Summer Training Class

Published on June 17, 2013

Geauga County – CASA for KIDS of Geauga County (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is recruiting volunteers to advocate for the “best interest” of abused and neglected children involved in the juvenile court. No particular background is required, but you must be at least 25 years of age and have no criminal record. Diversity of age, gender, ethnicity etc. is welcomed. Professional CASA staff provides 32 hours of pre-service training.  Supervision and continuing education is also provided after appointment by the Juvenile Court to serve as the Guardian ad Litem.  More volunteers are needed to ensure every child has a voice in court. The next training sessions will be in August 2013. If you are interested, call Chris Steigerwald, 440-279-1696 to get more information and begin the application process
