Christmas on Main Winners Announced

Garrettsville – Garrettsville Area Chamber announced the winners of the Christmas on Main, shop local event. The drawing took place at the Annual Chamber Christmas Social held at the Sugar Bush Golf Club on December 19, 2012.  Scott Walls, Alliance Foods Project Manager from the Save-A-Lot Store in Garrettsville did the honors of drawing the winning names.     The first place winner is Scott Galayde of Garrettsville; he wins $500 chamber bucks to be used at participating area businesses. The poinsettia lottery tree went to Kristen Rhinehart and a $50 gift card to Mc Donald’s went to Johnny Manis. Congratulations to all the winners!

This year the shopping event, Christmas on Main, generated nearly $350,000 into the local economy. The event started on November 2, 2012 and ran thru December 15, 2012.

Congratulations to Shaker Tree, who took first place in the commercial decorating contest also sponsored by the chamber. Second place went to Art N Flowers with One Real Peach taking third. Thank you to all the businesses who decorated their windows, making the town look so festive this holiday season.

In other chamber news, Mayor Rick Patrick gave a toast to the late Roy Pancost and the late Craig Moser, two men that were great contributors to our community and are sorely missed.

Following the toast, the election of officers for the up-coming year was held. The new chamber officers for the 2013 are President-Ben Coll, Co-Vice Presidents will be Barb Bejger and Eva Szasz; Secretary-Michelle Zivoder, and Treasurer-Erika Frankel.

The Chamber wishes to thank all those who helped make 2012 a fantastic year and look forward to working together to make 2013 even better.
