Portage APL Holiday Promotion

Published on December 13, 2012

Portage County – The Portage County Animal Protective League is holding a holiday adoption promotion this month. It started Tuesday, December 11th and continues through the end of the month.catAccording to a press release regarding the promotion, “the APL is giving away a brand new, cozy blanket, toy and treats with each adoption. Also, the first 12 cat adopters will get a Martha Stewart cat scratcher!”

In that press release, Chalan Lowry, the Executive Director of the Portage APL, said, “Holidays can be a busy time for some, but others may have a few extra days off work and have more time to spend with a new pet. The more animals we find homes for, the more animals we can take in.”

All dogs and cats adopted from the APL will be up-to-date on vaccines, spayed or neutered and checked for a clean bill of health. Many are microchipped.

The Portage APL is a private, nonprofit organization, so in addition to needing forever homes for their wards, they rely heavily on donations from the community to keep their doors open. “[We] rely on the generosity and kindness of individuals and businesses to make our community a safer place for thousands of animals who have no voice.”
