Published on July 14, 2012

Geauga Lyric Theater Guild’s Youth Workshops begin their summertime performances with the teen production of Stephen Schwartz’s and John-Michael Tebelak’s “Godspell”. This energetic production, directed by Karen O’Baker Porter, kicks off the Geauga Theater’s live productions  for the summer on July 19, 20th at 7:30pm and July 21st at 2pm. Featuring a variety of  contemporary music styles explaining the parables of the Bible, Godspell follows Christ and his disciples through a lighthearted yet thought-provoking spiritual journey.

The six week long workshop experience provides teens many opportunities to help shape the production along with the director and musical director, Ian LeRoy, with input on staging, choreography, set design, and costumes. Performances are open to the public. Ticket prices for seniors/students are $5 and adults $8. Seats for this production are reserved.

The Geauga Theater Box Office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 11am-1pm and 5pm-7pm, Saturdays from 10am-2pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.geaugatheater.org or by phone at 440-286-2255. The Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. on the historic Chardon Square.
