Geauga Fresh Farmers’ Market 2012 Annual Organizational Meeting Scheduled

The Geauga Fresh Farmers’ Market will hold its 2012 Annual Organizational Meeting on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the OSU Extension office – Patterson Center on the Geauga County Fairgrounds at 14269 Claridon-Troy Rd. in Burton. The meeting will start at 9:00AM and refreshments will be served. Those interested in participating in the market this year are invited to attend. There will be a presentation by the Board, information on marketing and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).  Applications for 2012 will be available.

A market that allows farmers and other producers to sell directly to the customers will help to support a farm economy in Geauga County. The market is looking for producers and farmers of produce, meats and fruits, wholesale or retail, artisanal breads, crackers, and prepared foods for its 2012 season.

The Geauga Fresh Farmers’ Market will start its eleventh season in South Russell Village at the corner of Rt. 306/Chillicothe Rd. and Bell St. The market will be open from 9:00-Noon Saturdays, rain or shine, starting May 19 until early October.
